The forest escape homestead was started 13 years ago on 43 acres of raw land purchased from a sweet Amish man. It was a blessing from God that we can live separately, in nature, away from chaos. An Amish construction crew build the shell of our cabin, and left after completing their work in four days. From there, the adventure really started in another serious dimension that would involve blood, sweat and tears! I wrote a Christian book about the decisions involved in this lifestyle change, and this journey, entitled “Forest Escape: a chosen path” and the book tells all about the processes involved in getting into a functional homestead that supports the life we wanted to live. In this Locals platform I hope to answer some of your questions, and help you get started - or help with the progress you have made so far in your journey! God bless!
